Have you been thinking of getting a tattoo for the longest time and don't know what kind of tattoo you want or where to get it done? Don’t worry, there's an interesting tattoo festival, called the ‘The Puncturewala Tattoo Festival’ taking place on July 23, 2022 and July 24, 2022 from 11 am to 6 pm at the Barefoot Café in Parra, North Goa.
Aim of the festival
This is the second edition of the festival, which was founded by Sansakar Sawant and friends.
Speaking about what inspired him to start this festival, he says, “I noticed that people were not comfortable going to roadside tattoo artists in the country, and realized that we needed to create spaces that are comfortable for people to go to and get a tattoo done.”
And so, this festival will be open only for a limited number people, and few people will be allowed while the tattoo is being done.
About the tattoo artists
The tattoo artists participating in the festival hail from different states of India which include Bangalore, Chennai, Goa and Mumbai. The artists are who will be attending the festival are Flyin Munki, EPOC47, Chew’d Perfect, Poonam Jain and Masi Bindu.
Following the seven-hour tattoo festival, there will be a pop-up bazar.
The artists' work will be displayed in the form of a portfolio, and visitors can examine this, and then choose the artist from whom they want to get a tattoo done.
Another interesting part of the event is that people can get a custom tattoo done, which will not be repeated for anyone else as it will be unique to that individual.
"There will be only two artists to do full body tattoos on both days of the event. There will also be a live demonstration on how to go about with the tattoos and a lot more," said Sawant.
