February 18th and 19th 2023 will see the resurgence of India and Goa’s first and only ukulele festival. Yes! The Mahalo Ukulele Festival is back with a bang and raring to make a huge impact, especially in these post-COVID days, when people are still in a morose state of mind, mourning the loss of all the pandemic has taken from us.

The first edition of the Mahalo Ukulele Festival took place in 2019.

It was launched to fill in the space that founder Christina discovered when researching ukulele festivals in India to satisfy her son’s enthusiasm to participate in a ukulele festival in Hawaii.

A seed that began growing with the desire to learn to play the guitar, and evolved into learning how to play the ukulele, has now become a massive affair with international musicians like Neptune Chapotin, the founder of the World Mouth Harp Festival in Arambol.

Chapotin also holds the title of World Virtuoso earned at the 7th International Mouth Harp Congress in Yakutia, Siberia. He will be teaching the mouth harp and performing at the festival.

Co-founders Anirban Halder, who has a rock band called Electric Pulse, and Luv Mahtani, a ukulele teacher from Pune, will be performing at the festival.

Both have been powerful driving forces along with Christina Fernandes in putting the entire festival together.
