It’s a day of love, flowers, chocolates, dinners and big business opportunities. Like most years, this year too, restaurateurs have plunged into the prospect of creating unforgettable experiences for those in love.
From specially-curated menus, interesting drinks and cocktails and themed dinners, let’s find out what is in store for the love birds in Goa this Valentine’s Day.
ROMANTIC DINNERS WITH YOUR BAE
Talking to Gomantak Times Digital, Anisha Hassan of Casa Lusitana in São Tomé has a special menu curated for the love birds. From chicken dishes to seafood to aphrodisiac desserts.
“We have customised the menu for this special day. We have chicken roulade – stuffed chicken with nuts and chocolate in a red wine velouté; filet mignonettes with truffle mash, beetroot coulis and red wine jus, assorted seafood cooked in wine served with garlic toast and for dessert there is Ferrero mousse with cashew nut crumble and strawberry compote,” says Anisha.
For those who prefer to spend the evening with their beau sipping wine, Beno in Benaulim is the go-to destination. Gaurav Bhardwaj who runs the place has been getting enquiries for his Valentine’s special, which involves a three-course meal with a bottle of wine.
“From a customised cheese board, to lamb chops, to lava mud cake – it’s all about showering love to your better half. We are also catering to those who are vegetarians and non-vegetarians,” says Gaurav.
Sweema Fernandes of Folga Bar and Kitchen restaurant based in Seraulim says, “We wanted to make it special for couples who want to celebrate the day together. We have curated a special drink – Lychee Moonshine which will be served today.”
MUSIC AND DECOR TO SOOTHE THE SOUL
With ongoing Valentine’s Day preps, restaurateurs have observed a significant increase in enquiries for menus and activities offered. Besides the food menu – having a romantic ambience and music is ideal.
Sweema adds, “Along with delectable food, we have a special band Silver Notes that will perform. They will belt out some very interesting love songs to suit the evening.”
Anisha says that the decor is important to set the mood right and she along with her staff are busy setting up the place for the evening. From heart-shaped balloons to fresh roses on the table – restaurateurs are sure to cash in for this day of love.
