The majestic Church of St Anne (also called Santana Church), in Santana, Talaulim, was founded in 1557, and is one of the oldest churches in Goa.
The feast of its patroness, Santa Ana (St Anne) is on July 26, but is celebrated the following Sunday. In Goa, this feast is popularly known as Touxeamchem Fest (feast of cucumbers).
The feast draws large crowds of devotees from near and far, especially those praying for a spouse or the gift of a child.
This year, the feast of St Anne will be celebrated on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Santana, Talaulim. Novenas will be held from July 21, 2023 to July 29, 2023. All masses will be in Konkani. Masses will be followed by novena prayers.
The schedule of masses for the feast and novena days is as follows:
NOVENAS: July 21, 2023 – July 29, 2023
Morning: 7.15 am
Evening: 5.15 pm
FEAST DAY: Sunday, July 30, 2023
Morning: 6 am, 7.15 am, 8.30 am, 10 am (High Mass)
Evening: 4 pm
