Day 1 of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022 saw the world premiere of Madhur Bhandarkar’s India Lockdown. The director of the film said that the film received a positive response from the attendees at the festival.
Speaking about the film, he said, “I am very happy with the kind of response that India Lockdown has got at IFFI; people loved the film."
He explained that the film was based on the lockdown phase (in 2020) during the Covid-19 pandemic. "It covers the initial 20 to 35 days of the lockdown. It is the story of human spirit.”
FIRST TIME FOR PRATEIK BABBAR
The lead actor of India Lockdown, Prateik Babbar, shared his experiences and said that it was his first time at IFFI. "I am very excited. India Lockdown is about the Covid-19 lockdown. We all faced the lockdown. It is not a film, but an emotion that all of us went through during the pandemic," added Babbar.
He expressed hope that people would attend and watch the film in large numbers.
FOR SAI TAMHANKAR, IFFI IS SECOND HOME
"For me, IFFI is like our second home. We come here every year. This year, it is special as our movie, India Lockdown, has its world premiere here at IFFI," said Bollywood actress Sai Tamhankar.
She added that she was witnessing such a grand celebration after a long time.
When asked if Goa was a holiday or work for her, Tamhankar excitedly replied, "Goa is all about holiday! But, this time, it is a mix of both work and holiday."
