Several Goa-based creative practitioners will showcase their work at an exhibition entitled ‘Continuum – Altered Trajectories’ which is Sunaparanta Art Intiator Lab‘s (SAIL) edition one, and will showcase the individual and collaborative works of their mentees.
The exhibition is a result of the process undergone by the creative practitioners so as to develop their skills, aesthetic and understanding of the professional cultural world. They were mentored by art historian, Lina Vincent.
Vincent is an independent art historian and curator with two decades of experience in arts management. She has worked on multi-layered projects that focus on inclusivity, highlight plural approaches and collaborate public art engagement. She currently practices foregrounds sustained engagement with material culture and social history, seen through acts of community interaction, documentation and display; archiving and interpretation.
The artists who will showcase their work at 'Continuum – Altered Trajectories’ exhibition by Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab (SAIL) include Vijay Bhandare, Sidhesh Chari, Pratishtha Chhetri, Teamea Costa, Jodan De Souza, Asavari Gurav, Onkar Kshirsagar, Impana Kulkarni, Gaurang Naik, Pratik Naik, Rajaram Naik, Ashish Phaldesai, Juliette Ravel Roychowdhury and Kiran Tamboskar.
The mentees of SAIL hail from different creative fields and backgrounds. It is a space for sharing experiences and exchanging ideas. The programmes also allow artists to understand what they can do and how to use the tools available at their disposal, along with practical and knowledge-based aspect of working.
The exhibition is a display of multidisciplinary approaches and collaborative journeys; which creates an assemblage of stories by building fresh connections between their practices.
All of this is facilitated by and through Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts, Altinho.
SAIL is directed towards building a vibrant and collaborative community, by enabling mentees to connect with diverse practical and theoretical resources within the local (and national) context, equipping them with the tools necessary to enter and thrive in a constantly changing cultural ecosystem.
