Music has no borders. Its melody stirs something in us no matter which corner of the globe we are in, and its rhythm unites us in ways we can never imagine.
And, it will once again unleash its magic, bringing together students from the renowned Goa Jazz Academy, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), and KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) for an extraordinary line-up of performances from November 13, 2024 to November 16, 2024 in Goa.
The Student Collective Showcase, a musical collaboration, will take place in Goa, over three days when the next generation of jazz innovators will take on the stage.
“This is a special event that has been in play for almost a year. We wanted our students, especially those in and from Goa, to have the opportunity to play with young musicians from all over India and the world,” says Divya Gupta, director of Goa Jazz Academy.
"We are really excited to be partnering with AR Rahman’s KM Conservatory of Music and the Queensland University of Technology on this project,” she adds.
With the Goa Jazz Academy’s rich jazz traditions, combined with the innovative approach of Australia's QUT and the classical roots of KMMC in Chennai, the performance promises to leave the audience inspired.
The young musicians will creatively demonstrate diverse music styles.
On Day 1, November 13, 2024, emerging artistes will have the opportunity to showcase their talent at the Open Mic Night and set the stage for the next two days. The event will be hosted at P2’s Chippy and Bar, Socorro, Porvorim, from 7 pm onwards.
The cross-cultural collaboration of artistes, musicians and performers from diverse backgrounds will be on full display on Day 2, at the Student Collaborative Showcase.
This night of music, that promises to be unforgettable, will be held on November 14, 2024, at Barefoot Goa, Parra, from 7 pm onwards.
The grand Finale Showcase on Day 3 will celebrate the vibrant connections forged through music on November 16, 2024, at The Goa Jazz Academy, Guirim, from 7 pm onwards.
You can expect a captivating mix of singer-songwriter tunes, pop, funk, soul, rock and jazz, with a blend of original compositions and dynamic performances.

“The idea of collaborating with students from different schools and cultures is very exciting. We are definitely looking forward to all three days and the celebrations,” says Aman Kalra, a school student who is studying guitar at the Goa Jazz Academy, extending an invite to all.
