Noted lyricist and CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi said on Sunday, November 21, that Diversity in talents will bring Diversity to the cinema"at the Masterclass on Filmmaking, held on the sidelines of the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Prasoon Joshi highly admired the festival for honoring and mentoring the 75 young budding artists of the Creative Minds of Tomorrow Competition, which was launched as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
"Diversity among filmmakers is important to have diversity in films, we can then see the truthful representation of a farmer's life. People can argue that through discussion and observation a filmmaker can tell another person's story. But if a person who belongs to that milieu comes to the industry, then you will get a true story," Joshi said.
He also said that it would be good for all the Indians if they learned at least one more language besides their mother tongue. He also told the young artists that they should do what truly inspires them.
Shri Joshi has been granted with the Indian Film Personality Award of the year 2021 along with Hema Malini.
While Hema Malini has been presented with the award at the opening ceremony yesterday, Joshi will receive the award at the closing ceremony on 28th November.
