Fundação Oriente India, Panjim, in association with the Heritage Cell of Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, presents ‘Vem Cantar Remembers’, a tribute concert featuring performances by winners of previous editions of Vem Cantar.
The concert will be held on September 23, 2023 at the ESG, Panjim, from 6 pm to 7.30 pm.
The finals of the solo and group singing competition ‘Vem Cantar’ 2023 will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim, from 5 pm onwards.
ABOUT VEM CANTAR
The very first edition of the ‘Vem Cantar’ contest was organised by the Heritage Cell of Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, in 1998. From those humble beginnings, the competition has grown into one of Goa’s most awaited annual events.
Over the past two decades, a host of organisations have been associated with the competition. These include Semana da Cultura Indo-Portuguesa, Clube Harmonia de Margão, Centro de Língua Portuguesa – Instituto Camões, Cidade de Goa, Consulate General of Portugal (Consulado Geral de Portugal), V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) and de Souza Group, to name a few.
Apart from that, quite a few of the winners of the contest – such as Sonia Shirsat, Nadia Rebelo, Franz Schubert Cotta, Orlando de Noronha, Carlos Meneses, Siddharth Cota, Selwyn Menezes and Victor da Costa – have gone on to become leading names on Goa’s music scene.
