Twenty-five Samraat Clubs across Goa are all geared up to stage 25 dramas at 25 venues from February 17 to 25.
The dramas are being staged as part of the silver jubilee of Master Dattaram Volvoikar Smruti Natyamahotsav by Samraat Club International (SCI) - State 1 and in memory of noted Goan theatre personality, the late Dattaram Volvoikar.
This was announced in a press conference organised by the committee of the natyamahotsav held in Ponda by Shailesh Borkar, President of SCI - State 1.
Pandurang Gaonkar, Chairman of the newly appointed Silver Jubilee Organizing Committee announced special attractive prizes for the clubs. Also, he informed, photo frames of late Master Dattaram Volvoikar will be given to all the 25 clubs.
The inauguration ceremony will be organized by Samraat Club, Madkai. President Dinesh Valvaikar said that a total of three plays will be presented as a part of the natyamahotsav.
The three plays are: Shrimaan Yogi written by Ranjit Desai and directed by Shashikant Nageshkar (February 22); Amrut Mohini written by Ranjankar and directed by Durgadas Naik and Ethe Oshalala Mrutyu written by Ranjeet Desai and directed by Prashant Naik (February 23).
Samraat Club, Sankhali, Secretary Sujay Kolhapurkar, informed that the valedictory function of the natyamahotsav will be held on February 25 at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali, where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be the Chief Guest.
On the occasion, the drama, Infiltration, written by Prakash Vajarikar and directed by Nilesh Mahale will be staged.
State Secretary, Shashikant Punaji, gave information about the dramas to be staged in Goa and appealed to the presidents of all clubs to celebrate the silver jubilee year with gusto.
