Actor Aamir Ali has a thing for Goa. For him, Goa is no longer a holiday plan but has turned into a habit. Want to know why? Read more of his quick and fun chat with the Gomantak Times Digital.
Aamir discovered Goa, when he came down to the coastal State to shoot for his film Naxalbari (2020), offered to him during the COVID-19 lockdown. One of the series of the film was shot in Goa. “You know, when I came to Goa for the first time, it was for the shoot, and then I fell in love with it. I believe Goa gives you a sense of peace away from the (film) industry,” says the Lootere actor.
GOA IS HOME
Aamir adds, “a lot of people come to Goa as it’s become a habit (with them) and gives them relief from the hectic public life. Goa gives me a sense of freedom and peace.” He was so enamoured by Goa that he even picked up a place for himself here, “my house in Assagoa is under construction. I am also working on residential real estate project and it’s my first experience as a developer. I’m really excited to see how it unfolds.”
Taking about his project, he says he prefers to use natural products and loves the lush green around it. “This is the first project which I have done in Assagoa. We have used natural stones and there’s a lot of greenery around the house. We have preserved as many trees as we could. So, there’s lots of cool breeze around the house,” says the F.I.R star.
It’s these under-construction houses that bring Aamir to Goa very often. “It’s been four years since I’ve been coming to Goa – nearly once or twice a month. I’ve been working hard on making my own home and giving it a whole homely vibe. There’s something about Goa that makes you feel so good,” injects Aamir.
BEACHES BRING ME BACK TO GOA
Goa does not just have amazing beaches but is also known for the restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines. “I like trying new things and there are about 100 new restaurants that have opened up in Goa in like last one year. I, personally, love Yazu. I love the food there, especially the sushi. Who can’t fall in love with the beaches here? I think that’s something that keeps bringing me back here. Goa is happening and peaceful at the same time,” says Aamir.
Batting for Goa, the actor explains why this sultry coastal State hits it off with every tourist; “Goa has a vibe that everyone should experience. I think, the wide range of places opening up here is just great.”
