Just when the Konkani film, Xetkar (farmer), by Tousif de Navelim was released and screened in several villages across Goa, the same director immediately started working on another Konkani horror film, Cindrella.

And, when Tousif de Navelim was working on the sets of Cindrella, Rajesh Kundaikar got ready to release and screen his Konkani horror film, Chitra The Hidden Truth. He revealed that his upcoming film is a multi-lingual, fictional and horror-thriller-suspense.

The film, Chitra The Hidden Truth, is of one hour and 20 minutes duration and has been shot in Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Apart from working on the script, Kundaikar is also the director of the film.

“It is a multi-lingual film and many languages – Hindi, Konkani, English, Marathi, Latin, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Kannada and old Aramaic – are artistically wrapped in the film,” the director shared. “There are different characters in the film, and those respective characters have been given the freedom to speak in their local language. And, listening to different languages will automatically add flavour to the film,” he added.

Apart from being a multi-lingual film, to permit Chitra The Hidden Truth to go across the globe, “there are sub-titles in the film and so, every viewer can stay connected to the film,” Kundaikar said.

BEHIND THE MOVIE

The director is planning to release his new film shortly, but not quite sure whether it will be released in theatres, or whether he will be forced to go in for a direct YouTube release. His first film, Nikita Murder Case, was released in 2021 and he soon started working on his second horror film.

Kundaikar said that it took him 2 long years to complete Chitra The Hidden Truth as it had to be shot at different places and in three different states. And, after all the hard work which has been put into the production, he is happy with the product and hopes for its success.

“There is no doubt that the success of any film depends on the quality of script, direction and cinematography,” Kundaikar said. “But, it also depends on viewership. The more people flock to watch the film, be it in theatres or on the YouTube channel, the more its publicity increases and success follows thereafter,” he added.

Throwing light on the story of the film, Kundaikar said, “It revolves around a young, runaway couple, whose lives get intertwined in a paranormal twist, with a host of other exotic characters, each in their sub-plots and interesting roles.”

“The movie has twists and turns in the metaphysical plot and some light humorous moments, too,” the director revealed. “The film has an enigmatic appeal from the word go and the audience will be held spellbound till the last minute,” he added.

The cast includes Sandesh Signapurkar, Vishal Biradar, Mamta, Rikesh Sharma, Vijay and Vikas Gaonkar, Bobby Salgaonkar, Devidas Gawas, Manjit Fadte, Ranjit Walkar, Darshan Lolienkar and others.

“As Roque Lazarus has been associated with Konkani films like Nachumia Kumpasar, Enemy and Amori,” the director said that he has also been roped in the film.

The chief producer of the film is RK Tech Films, while the concept is by Ramesh Kundaikar, and cinematography has been handled by Rajesh Kundaikar and Darshan Lolienkar.
