In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the state, the Goa government on Sunday extended the ongoing coronavirus-induced curfew in the state till August 23.
According to the previous order, the curfew was supposed to end on August 16. However, in the fresh order issued on Sunday, the state administration said that the curfew will continue to remain in force till August 23.
The state government had earlier opened a majority of activities in the state with several curbs in place, but casinos are yet to be opened.

The daily Covid count has gone down below a hundred over the last few days.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Goa reached 1,72,506 on Monday with the addition of 75 cases. The death toll remains unchanged at 3,171 with no new fresh fatality being reported.
The total number of vaccine doses administered in the state has reached 14, 42, 724. ON Sunday, CM Pramod Sawant said that Goa became the first state in the country to give one dose of coronavirus vaccine to 90% of its eligible population.
