Former Union Minister and All India Congress Committee (AICC) election observer for Goa, P Chidambaram on Thursday said that doors are open alliance with Congress party, however, if not, the congress party is ready to fight on all 40 seats.
“The Congress party is ready to contest 40 seats in the coming elections. Nevertheless, we are ready to meet the leaders of other parties and discuss the alliance,” he said.
While speaking about the leadership change in the Goa Congress organization, the senior Congress leader cleared the air around a change in guard in Goa Congress, saying that he is not here to change the president of Goa Congress and has come in as capacity of an election observer.
He met all the frontal organizations' workers for their feedback and held meetings with office-bearers throughout the day.
Attack the BJP government, Chidambaram said that people have lost faith in the present government. He also ensured that Congress would soon announce candidates to give them enough time for campaigning.
