Recently, around 300 people came together to honour their Goan heritage and celebrate World Goa Day at the Te Atatū Peninsula Community Centre in New Zealand.

In New Zealand, World Goa Day is an annual celebration organised by GOANZ, and brings together Goans, those connected to Goa, and its vibrant culture for an evening of fun and camaraderie.

THEME PARTY

The decor highlighted the evening’s theme, ‘Country Western.' A nearby photo booth with fun props allowed attendees to capture memories, while each table featured creative Western-themed centrepieces.

DRESS TO IMPRESS

Guests embraced the theme with enthusiasm, donning country-Western outfits. Cowboys and cowgirls in boots, hats and accessories filled the room with energy, setting the tone for an exciting evening.

TWINKLING STARS

A medley of Portuguese and Konkani tunes, presented by the youth group, 'The 5 Stars,' captivated the audience.

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY

The Bootscootin Line Dancers got the crowd on their feet for a lively line dancing session, and guests tapped and swayed in perfect sync to the beat.

FUN PRIZES

Prizes were awarded throughout the night, including those for the best-dressed child and couple in country-Western attire, as well as the couple with the best dance moves.
