BONDERAM FEVER!

One of the most loved monsoon festivals, Bonderam, is almost here. And, if you're heading for the Malar Bonderam this August 17, 2024, here are some reasons to be excited.

AN EARLY START

The vibrant celebrations will commence at 11 am with the 'Patoienchem Fest', workshops on mollam and rotecao, and a GED Talk special with Rajendra Kerkar and Ross Picardo.

TASTE OF TRADITION

Following the informative session, the Bonderachem Jevonn will take place from 12.30 pm, serving local, time-honoured recipes.

WALK THROUGH THE VILLAGE

With the flag-bearers leading the way, the Bonderachi Pasoi will begin at around 3.30 pm, giving participants a chance to walk around the village, and hear tales about the area's history, all while savouring traditional sweets.

BLINDFOLDED FUN

As the Pasoi culminates at the Sao Matias Club, the festivities will officially commence with a series of fancy dress competitions for all ages and the traditional coconut-breaking contest, called Katodio.

STREET CHARM

A vibrant showcase of talent and culture, the annual float parade competition will kick off around 5 pm with traditional themes taking centre stage.

ROCK WITH THE BEATS

A high-energy performance by the band, Lynx, followed by the dynamic beats of DJ Macattack will end the festivities at 10 pm.
