FIRE HAZARD

Glow Fest faced serious opposition from environmental groups and locals, who raised fire risks, especially in windy conditions. They said accidental fires could damage forests, fields, and even endanger property or wildlife.

TURTLE TROUBLE

The festival's cancellation stemmed from several concerns, including lack of permits, its proximity to a turtle nesting site, and its location within an eco-sensitive zone.

LEAVE TURTLES ALONE

Morjim Beach is a crucial nesting ground for turtles. Every year, female Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the soft sand. The nesting season is currently underway, making it a particularly sensitive time.
