BAMBOLIM'S LANDMARK

It's not merely out of habit, but more so out of faith, that whenever people pass by along NH66, they slow down, whisper a prayer and pay homage at the Miraculous Cross, before proceeding on their journey.

HEALING POWER

Back in the 1940s, Santana Afonso from Siridao, diagnosed with terminal cancer, prayed for healing and was miraculously cured after praying at this cross, leading to its reputation as a 'miraculous cross'.

BEACON OF GRACE

The cross was a simple structure back then. But, over the years, it was upgraded and eventually transformed into the Holy Cross Shrine that can be seen today.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

Inaugurated in 1996, the church was designed by noted architect Ralino de Souza, and features a two-tier system which allows the entire congregation to get a view of the altar.

CROSS OF FLOWERS

The name Fulancho Khuris (Cross of Flowers) comes from the tradition of devotees from all walks of life placing garlands of flowers on the cross as a mark of reverence.
