When stars shone brightly at IFFI: Throwback to past editions

SHINING THROUGH

Hollywood icon, Michael Douglas, received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th IFFI in 2023. He was in Goa with his wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

ANGRY MAN

At the 50th edition of IFFI, while inaugurating the Indian Panorama section, actor Amitabh Bachchan said 'coming to Goa is coming home'. The film star's first film, Saat Hindustani, was shot in 1969 in Goa.

Salman Khan may have been in and out of trouble many a time, but last year, he proved he stands by family when he attended the 54th IFFI to support niece, Alizeh Agnihotri, in her debut film, Farrey.

From humble beginnings as a coolie and bus conductor, actor Rajnikanth has scaled heights that no Bollywood actor can claim. He received a special Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th IFFI.

ETHEREAL WAHEEDA

Waheeda Rehman's stature as an actress is undebatable with movies like Pyaasa and Guide to her credit. She was rightly conferred the inaugural Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year in 2013.

HOLLYWOOD MAGIC IN GOA

Academy Award-winning actress and lead of Dead Man Walking and Thelma and Louise, Susan Sarandon, was invited to inaugurate the 44th IFFI.

MEGASTAR OF THE SOUTH

Chiranjeevi, who has starred in over 150 Telugu films, besides acting in numerous Hindi, Kannada and Tamil movies, received the 53rd IFFI's Personality of the Year Award.
