Drowning cases reported at some of the quarries since 2020 have prompted the State government to restrict entry at these spots.

SAFETY FIRST

At the recent Assembly session, the government informed it will spend Rs 2.75 crore to fence 35 abandoned quarries. It also directed private owners to erect barbed wire fencing around their quarries.
