Eco Treks Goa recently organised a trek to the beautiful village of Adpai to explore the natural beauty of the place.

ART UNLIMITED
Adpai is known as the 'Land of Artists', and trekkers got to interact with noted artists, Sagar Naik Mule (Kaavi art) and Shekhar Adpaikar (portrait artist).
With overcast skies and panoramic views of the Zuari river in the distance, Adpai village looks breathtaking in the monsoons.

TRADITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Sharad Naik, a local, explained the biodiversity of the village, particularly how plateaus were traditionally used for grazing cattle, seasonal farming, etc.

WONDERS OF NATURE
During the trek, participants explored the plateau – a biodiversity wonder which is home to a variety of grasses, wild flowers, snakes, and more.

SEASON’S SPECIAL
An assortment of seasonal flowers are found on the plateau and bloom at this time of the year.

INSECT-LOVING
An endemic flowering plant, the Malabar Bladderwort (Utricularia malabarica), is an insectivorous plant, mainly found on Goa's plateaus.

LOCAL FLAVOURS
Following the trek, there was a scrumptious meal which included local vegetarian delicacies, such as Khatkhate, Gaathi, Mangane, etc.

SCENIC FINALE
The trek culminated in a visit to a local waterfall, located in the midst an arecanut plantation.
