JUST LIKE ROME

Built in the Corinthian style, St Cajetan Church is, in fact, a replica of the Basilica of St Peter in Rome, which also features a large hemispheric dome.

ARCHITECTURAL DELIGHT

The central pillars of the church join to form elegant arches that support the weight of the huge dome.

WRITING ON THE WALL

At the base of the dome, a Latin inscription from the Bible translates to 'Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things will be given to you'.

TIMELESS TECHNIQUES

Although the interior of the church is dimly lit, the windows of the church, especially those high up on the dome, allow natural light to cascade inside.

SACRED SPACES

Apart from the main altar, which is dedicated to Our Lady of Providence, there are about six vaulted chapels, one of them being dedicated to St Cajetan, the patron saint of job seekers.

NEED TO KNOW

Other interesting elements of the church worth noting are the presence of two sacristies in the church and a 22-metre deep well at its centre.
