This fort in Betul stands as an icon of Goa's history, and is believed to have been built under the orders of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The fort was built back in 1679 with the primary purpose of taking control of the trade and commerce entering the River Sal and headed towards Salcete.

STILL STANDING

The ruins of the fort, along with cannons positioned on its ramparts, can be seen to this day.
