DOWNPOUR HOLIDAY

Wednesday, July 5, 2023, witnessed non-stop showers all over the state. In view of the prevailing weather situation, the state government declared a holiday for students of Std I to Std XII.

Continuous pounding by the monsoons on Wednesday led to flooding in most parts of the capital city, Panjim.

Flooding of the city roads made it difficult for people to walk on the streets.

SMART DITCHES IN THE SMART CITY

Due to poor visibility conditions, the wheels of many vehicles ended up getting stuck in the ditches, drains and potholes, that pepper the smart city of Panjim.

IN A JAM

Submerged roads and incessant rains caused heavy traffic jams in the capital city, with vehicles moving at snail's pace, making it challenging for commuters to reach their destinations on time.
