In summer, when the water level in the Selaulim Dam decreases, the village of Curdi, in Sanguem, slowly resurfaces as it submerged underwater during the rest of the year.

The rising temperatures are great for dehydrating all kinds of local food items, and fish, rice, chillies and other culinary ingredients can be seen drying on many public roads, among other locations.
