Aamchem Daaiz Museum is an ethnographic museum located in Sattari.
It contains an assortment of exhibits, painstakingly collected by its founder over the years.
The brainchild behind the museum, Gopinath Gawas (far right), has been collecting things of heritage value for years.
The museum houses over three thousand items.
Gopinath’s mother, who would always tell him that Goa’s ancestral traditions were rich and needed to be preserved, is the inspiration behind the museum.
A variety of utensils used for storage, implements, agricultural tools, coins, water pots and other articles of daily use can be seen at this ethnographic museum.
Terracotta, copper-brass utensils, glass bottles, utensils, radios, cassettes, old phones, watches, old liquor bottles, lamps, weights, measures, pipes, cans, keys, cameras, mirrors, cups, etc, all of which give an insight into a bygone era, are also seen in the museum.
Many of the exhibits in the museum have been donated by people who are aware of his interest in collecting such items.
