Sunaparanta Goa’s latest SAIL showcase open till July 12

THE EXHIBITION

Beyond Walls: a collaborative immersion is the 3^rd edition of the Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab (SAIL) programme for creative practitioners, open to the public till 12^th July 2024.

GRIEF, TRAUMA AND MEMORY

This year, 10 creative practitioners are exploring themes of grief, trauma, memory and cultural identity using a diverse range of media from words and sculpture to music and installation.

ABHILASHA GOSWAMI

Abhilasha’s creative journey as a visual artist is deeply rooted in her childhood memories and subconscious mind.

ARTI KURTARKAR

Arti uses sculpture, drawing, painting, installation, video and performance to urge viewers to confront the forces shaping our environment and reassess their role in the narrative of nature.

GAUTAM AMERKAR

Gautam uses painting and ceramic tile art to document the delicate balance between nature and urbanization, advocating for a sustainable future.

NEELAM CHAUHAN

Neelam’s art practice involves the distortion of form and spatial elements to incroporate a surrealistic approach, deeply influenced by her surroundings and state of being.

OMKAR BANAULE

Omkar’s mixed media installation honours his family’s house, heritage and memories using objects that hold symbolic meaning.

PRAGYA BHAGAT

Pragya weaves together poetry, performance, folk songs and visual art creating anchor pieces that resonate with the essence of home.

SHILPA NAYUDU

Shilpa’s mixed media embroidery and fabric installation explores pain as one of the most human attributes of our ephemeral existence.

SIDDESH GAUNEKAR

Siddesh has used the transformative power of audio-video projection and installation to evoke nostalgia from a treasure trove of childhood memories of long-ago objects and abandoned residences.

SIDHAN KUNDAIKAR

Sidhan’s mixed media installation explores the instersection of physical configurations nad aesthetics by juxtaposing linear and organic forms on various surfaces.

VIHANG NAGVEKAR

Vihang’s gouache and mixed media on paper were inspired by miniature paintings and his work involves deep introspection through a blending of elements of miniature painting with his childhood memories.
