Young documentary and commercial photographer from Goa, Daniel D’Souza, creates captivating visual landscapes and tells stories through his stunning images.
Daniel graduated from The One School, Goa, and his work has made it to the pages of well-known magazines such as Vogue, Grazia, Travel+Leisure, Elle Decor, GQ, Condé Nast Traveler etc.
Daniel’s photo-documentation of Shigmo, held in rural Goa in March, around the time of the Holi festival, captures the traditional rituals in different parts of Goa.
In order to get the real feel of an event, he stayed in five or six villages, documenting events like Chorotsav at Zarme, and Sheni Uzzo at Malcarne, to name a few.
Daniel has also documented Goan houses for Heta Pandit’s latest book, Stories from Goan Houses – a project which took two and half years to complete.
The informative book features 21 Goan houses from all over Goa.
Daniel believes that while technology has enhanced photography, it is also necessary for a photographer to have his own visual voice to stand out from the rest.
