November 2 is observed as All Souls' Day in the Catholic community worldwide, and in Goa, too.
Many people were seen at the cemetery, cleaning and decorating the graves of their departed loved ones.
People also prayed for the souls of their near and dear ones, who have passed on.
The graves were decorated in a variety of styles, using bouquets, petals, tea lights, candles, lawn grass etc.
Cleaned, decorated and all lit up, the cemetery looked beautiful -- just as it always does at this time of year.
The 'altar' at the cemetery was readied for mass the next morning, which is held in the cemetery on All Souls' Day.
Friends and family pitched in to help clean and decorate the place.
A prayer service was conducted at 6.30 pm by the priests of Navelim Church.
