The rather gloomy morning of August 24, 2023, was brought to life by the latest pop of colour that joined the busy streets of the Chogm Road in Porvorim.
Located right opposite Magsons Supermarket, the United Colors of Benetton (UCB) inaugurated their 8th store in Goa at Palazzo del Capitanio, inspired by Loggia Del Capitanio in Vicenza, Italy.
CEO of United Colors of Benetton India, Ramprasad Sridharan, spoke at the opening, and said, "Benetton is known to withstand the test of time and having seen great potential in Goa as a market, we are committed to bringing high-quality Italian fashion to our customers.”
Portraying Benetton's world through the Goan lens, the store has a vibrant wall, covered in graffiti by Goan artist, Kartik A Sharma. The main inspiration for this mural was the colourful streets of Fontainhas, Goa's Latin quarter.
As for the interiors of the store, well, let's just say that from the moment one steps inside, they are sure to be spoilt for choice. Not forgetting the 'personalisation center,' that lets one customise their purchases with embroidered initials and more!
The concept of the store has been derived from the first UCB store, located in London, where the store not only stocks the complete range of Benetton menswear, womenswear and kidswear, but also Casa Benetton, which has house elements such as informal lounge and hi-tech spaces across the store.
Sridharan added that the store had been designed on the London concept, which depicts Benetton’s progressive yet minimal design; with aesthetic and all elements being adapted and conceptualized to the local sensibilities.
So, be it a low-key Saturday that involves getting comfy in a bathrobe...
... or suiting up for your best friend's wedding, Benetton has got you covered with its outlets that are scattered all over Goa!
