Pomp and fervour mark Our Lady of Fatima feast in Loutolim

LADY OF THE ROSARY

The feast of Our lady of Fatima was celebrated by Catholics worldwide on October 13, 2024. And, the Saviour of the World Church in Loutolim joined in the celebrations, as well.

AT THE START

On the feast day, the festivities began with a Eucharistic celebration at 5 in the evening.

BLESSING OF VEHICLES

After the mass, the parish priest blessed the vehicles belonging to parishioners. This was followed by a procession of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima.

ABOUT THE PROCESSION

The statue was placed on a lovely bed of flowers, which was carried by members of the confraria.

LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT

With parishioners holding candles in colourful paper votives, the procession was a very pretty sight.

ALL TOGETHER NOW

Villagers of Loutolim, young and old, participated in the traditional procession which made its way around the church, which is over three centuries old.

ORA PRO NOBIS

After the procession, all those present venerated Our Lady of Fatima, as they invoked her blessings and intercession.
