Kerala's harvest festival, Onam, was celebrated at the VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE), located in Raia.

AT THE COLLEGE

Students, dressed in traditional attire, took to the halls of the college, where they sang and performed traditional dances.

FLOWER POWER

The students and staff got together to prepare a traditional Onam pookalam – the floral decoration – at the entrance of the institute.

FOODIE PARADISE

The traditional Onam sadhya featured around 26 items, which included gravies, rice and more.

MADE WITH LOVE

Over 200 guests were served the traditional Onam sadhya, which was cooked and served by the students of the culinary college.

BRINGING KERALA TO GOA

In Kerala, games like Vadamvali, or tug of war, are usually played by locals, and this was also incorporated in the celebrations at VMSIIHE.
