Every year, the novenas of Our Lady of Rosary begin early in morning with a candle light procession from Mount Carmel Chapel to Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim, with a beautiful decorated statue of Our lady of Rosary.
The people of the village wake up in the wee hours to participate in the procession, which starts at 3.30 am from Mount Carmel Chapel, Telaulim.
The villagers, young and old, join in the procession, which starts with a recitation of the holy rosary.
The route of the procession is beautifully lit and the people carry candles with pretty paper shades. As the procession passes through the village, more and more people joining in.
Along the route, people light candles and decorate their houses, which is quite a sight to behold.
The statue of Our Lady is tastefully decorated with lights and white flowers.
The procession ends at the Church of Our Lady of Rosary, Navelim, which is decked in a curtain of string lights.
Finally, the first novena mass begins at 5 am at the church.
