Navelim church feast novena begins with prayerful fervour

IN THE BEGINNING

The novena for Navelim's feast of Our Lady of Rosary on November 20, 2024, began with an early morning procession at 3.30 am.

PRAYERFUL PROCESSION

The procession started at 3.30 am from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, Telaulim, with people praying the Rosary along the way.

JOINING IN

As the procession passed through the village towards the church, people from different wards waited to join the procession.

THE YOUNG AND THE OLD

The procession was joined by the elderly as well as children of all ages.

ILLUMINATING THE WAY

Handmade paper lamps with a candle were held by the faithful, a splendid sight to behold.

The traditional procession from Telaulim to the church of Navelim before the novena is age old and unique.

NOVENA COMMENCES

The procession ended at Our Lady of Rosary Church with the Eucharistic celebration of the first day of the novena at 5.30 am.
