The six-lane Mopa link road in Pernem taluka, a 1,183-crore project, connecting the Manohar International Airport to the national highway 66 was thrown open on July 11, 2024.
The around 7-km controlled-access corridor is a key infrastructure project to provide a smooth ride to the airport saving crucial time for commuters as it bypasses a village.
One of the viaducts is particularly noticeable as it stands 40 metres tall and stretches approximately 1.6 km making it the tallest structure of the project.
A toll fee will be mandatory for all vehicles travelling on the Mopa link road. However, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to offer concession toll passes to taxi operators and locals.
