PRESERVING HERITAGE

The Goa government has invited bids to rope in a consultant to prepare a master plan to preserve the archaeological heritage of Chandor village.

Chandor village in South Goa, which was earlier known as Chandrapur, was the capital of the Kadambas, who ruled Goa for a long time before the Portuguese set foot.

Besides its rich historical past, Chandor is also known for its palatial Portuguese-era mansions that house a treasure trove of antiques.
