Margao Carnival: A feast of colour and culture

A SPREAD OF COLOURS

One of Goa's biggest cultural attractions, Carnival, reached Margao on Sunday, February 11, brightening up the streets of the commercial capital with myriad colours.

FOLLOW THE BEAT

Age did not deter these Kunbi dancers from syncing together and putting their best foot forward to showcase Goa's rich culture.

TAKE IT EASY

This participant depicts the lifestyle Goans hold so dear to their heart, which is susegad (which means relaxed, carefree attitude). The pose also signifies warmth, friendliness and cordiality. 

SWING ON!

This parade dancer was in a total Carnival mood, letting the music guide her.

SMILES ARE FOREVER

A participant of a well-depicted cultural float is all smiles, soaking in the revellery and fun.

WE'VE GOT THIS

The float parade started from the Holy Spirit Church and ended at Gomant Vidya Niketan Hall in the heart of Margao city.

BE AWARE

An awareness float depicted the consequences of road accidents and how they can be avoided.

These youth, dressed as girls, enjoyed every moment of Carnival, and happily posed for this photographer when requested.

DANCE, DANCE & DANCE

Youth, wearing colourful dresses, allowed their feet to do the talking and got lost in their dance till the end.
