One of Goa's finest, and the hosts of 'Sounds From Goa,' instrumentalist, Franz Schubert Cotta; singer, Nadia Rebelo; and guitarist, Omar de Loiola Pereira; are travelling to Macau this April!
Celebrating two milestones in Portuguese history, the trio has been chosen to represent Goa at the auspicious anniversary...
...which is being held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese democracy, and the 500th birth anniversary of Portuguese poet, Luis de Camoes.
According to Wikipedia, Portugal's redemocratisation process started with the Carnation Revolution of 1974, and ended when the Constitution of Portugal came into force in 1976.
The function has been scheduled to take place on April 26, 2024 and April 27, 2024 in Macau, a former Portuguese colony.
The trio was hand picked by the Fundacao Oriente's delegation in Goa, with the aim of having a musical and cultural exchange between Portugal and India.
Excited to perform their collection of fado, mando and other songs in Portuguese, Konkani and English, Sounds From Goa are gearing up to make an international impression!
