On World Animal Day, Congress MP, Rahul Gandhi, gifted a Jack Russell Terrier pup (which he had brought all the way from Goa) to his mother and former Congress Chief, Sonia Gandhi.
Earlier, in August this year, Rahul Gandhi made a private visit to Goa in order to adopt the puppy.
He met Goa-based dog breeders, advocate Sharvani Pitre and her husband Stanley Braganca, in Mapusa and selected one of their adorable pups.
Jack Russel Terriers are known to be very smart and active dogs, and also live longer than most other canines.
A video of Rahul Gandhi placing the puppy in a beautifully decorated gift box with a red ribbon is currently being shared on social media.
Sonia Gandhi was thrilled with the gift of the puppy, which they have named 'Noorie'.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also known to have a similar Jack Russell Terrier as a pet.
