The trees listen when we speak, and the roads recognise familiar footsteps. They know when you are running late and notice how your strides are a little shorter when another pair of feet are accompanying you on your journey.
Derived from the Portuguese word, Alto which translates to 'high' or 'tall', Altinho is a quiet neighbourhood that overlooks the city of Panjim.
Connected by slopes and stairs, Altinho is an extension of Panjim, minus the hustle and bustle of the city folk and buzzing vehicles.
Beautiful and unique in their own way, the staircases are a vital part of Altinho and its residents. For the old, they are an excuse to go on a little walk, and for the young, they are a chance to find out who can run up the stairs faster!
Over here, you can hear the birds chirp a little clearer, and listen to the stories of people as they take the winding staircases that lead them home.
Running through the lanes of Altinho's colourful little houses, the stairs will connect you to central Panjim in no time!
The trees listen when we speak, and the roads recognise familiar footsteps. But, if you are ever lost, simply follow the trail of the staircase and let it guide you home.
