Krishi Mahotsav 2024 in Goa was a fiesta of all things agriculture

WHERE, WHEN

'Krishi Mahotsav 2024' was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Sakhali, on February 24 and 25, this year, and was a feast for agriculture aficionados.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The 2-day state level agricultural exhibition was organised by the Directorate of Agriculture, and featured workshops and an assortment of displays of interest to farmers and agriculturists.

VIP GUESTS

Goa Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, inaugurated the event in the presence of the Minister for Agriculture, Handicrafts and Civil Supplies, Ravi Naik; Director of Agriculture, Nevil Alphonso; ZP members and others.

NEED TO KNOW

The event aimed to disseminate information about emerging technologies in the agricultural sector and create awareness about government programmes for the benefit of farmers and others involved in various agricultural activities.

AGRI SECTOR IN FOCUS

Hi-tech agri inputs, machinery, equipment, fertigation, micro-irrigation, organic farming, post-harvest technology, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries, processing and value addition, and other initiatives were also showcased.

HIGH-FLYING ELEMENTS

Drones were among the latest agricultural technology on display at the mahotsav.

KNOW-HOW

Training programmes on mushroom production, honeybee cultivation, branding and marketing of value-added products, grafting, kitchen gardening, and more were also held.

DAIRY DIARY

The Chief Minister also released the Shree Anna booklet, and felicitated Anant Malik, who received the Gopal Ratna, which honours eminent personalities in the field of dairy farming.
