Khelo India talent: Goa girl wins medals, shows promise in swimming

Purvi Ritesh Naik of Sankhali, North Goa, won one gold medal in 50 m freestyle with a timing of 0.30.70 secs, two silver medals in 400 m freestyle (5:04:22), 100 m freestyle (1:07:23), and one bronze medal in 200 m (2:30:62).

SWIMMING SENSATION

Eleven-year-old Purvi won these medals at the 40th Sub-junior and 50th Junior National Aquatic Championship 2024 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, held between August 6 and 11, 2024.

She is a student of Mushtifund High School Cujira, North Goa, studying in the sixth standard.

Purvi, who has exceptional talent and potential in the sport of swimming, trains dedicatedly at the Campal swimming pool, Panjim, in the morning and evening.

Presently, she is training at the Khelo India State Centre for Excellence, Campal, Panjim, under coach Sujith T A, who is a former national record holder and is known for his expertise in nurturing young talents.
