Nothing says a bear hug better than a cuddly teddy for your loved ones.
Day 10 of Valentine's week is when you express your love to your beloved by gifting a cute and cuddly teddy bear. That's right, Teddy Day!
The practice of Teddy Day came into significance after former US president Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub, commonly known as 'Teddy'.
Although Roosevelt's gesture was just a humane one, over the years, these cute teddy bears have made their way into Valentine's week.
While red has always been the colour of love and Valentine's Day, different colours of teddy bears symbolise different meanings.
Red signifies acceptance of friendship into love. Pink signifies appreciation. Blue signifies commitment and promises. Orange/yellow signifies happiness and green signifies ready to wait for your love.
Besides this, teddy bears are available in all shapes and sizes, from tiny keychain sizes to huge cuddly ones.
They're priced differently depending on size, with prices starting from ₹ 650.
A few stores where you can get your hands on some cute teddies are Walkover (Panjim), Toy Land (Panjim), Hamleys (Mall De Goa, Porvorim) and Toy Town (Mall de Goa, Porvorim).
