As part of the International Museum Day to be celebrated on May 18, 2023, an exhibition -- My Own Collection -- being put up at the Goa Science Centre, Miramar, reminds us of the things that were once part and parcel of our lives.
The exhibition is being held from May 16 to 18 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. Some of the products on display are old cameras, a gramophone, and even chocolate wrappers.
At the exhibition, one can get a glimpse into some of the coins used during the Portuguese rule. This is a collection by Vinayak Shanbhag.
The exhibition takes us back in time to the days when Lux, Santoor and Rexona were some of the top brands in the country.
Among the 14 collectors, who have displayed their collections, most are from Goa.
The collections range from old stamps to currency notes, and also old mobiles and sim cards.
The exhibition has given an opportunity to artifact collectors, numismatists and philatelists to display their collections.
The theme of this International Museum Day is 'Museums, Sustainability and Well-being'.
