Goa welcomes first freighter with 22T of air cargo at Mopa int'l airport

Manohar International Airport received its first freighter carrying 22 tonnes of goods showcasing GMR Goa Air Cargo Logistic (GGACL) Terminal and the airport’s capability to handle substantial freight operations.
Chapman Freeborn Air charters with BBN Airlines Turkey landed at Mopa on July 24, 2024, in the early morning hours marking the first commercial freighter operation in Goa using an MDL/LDL to offload cargo.
The MIA has so far handled approximately 5,000 MT of domestic/international air cargo through Air India, Oman Air, Indigo, Akasa, Vistara, and SpiceJet.
GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) has built an integrated GMR Goa Air Cargo Logistic Terminal with a capacity to handle 25,000 MT of cargo per annum in Phase I.
GGACL with its full-fledged cargo infrastructure and skilled manpower has created a new cargo destination airport at GOX providing quick turnaround of the freighters at GOX.
