At the recent launch of Goa’s new model of 'Regenerative Tourism', Minister of Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, emphasised the need to redefine Goa’s approach to travel and tourism.

'EKADASHA TEERTHA' CAMPAIGN
The new model will revolve around promoting 11 spiritual sites, or Ekadaska Teertha.
With the aim of fostering a deeper connection between travellers and the places they visit, this list of 11 temples includes Shri Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Temple (at Fatorpa) and Saptkoteshwar Temple (at Narve, Bicholim).

ENGAGING LOCAL COMMUNITIES
Through this campaign, the department also intends to empower local women and youth, and temples like Hari Mandir (at Margao) and Shree Datta Mandir (at Sankhli) have been added to the list.

EXPLORE RICH HERITAGE
Under this initiative, travellers will get a chance to explore Goa's cultural heritage as they visit these religious sites including the Brahmakarmali Temple (at Sattari) and the Mahaganapati Temple (at Khandola).

ATTRACT RESPONSIBLE TOURISTS
The Shree Mangesh Temple (at Mangeshi) and the Parashuram Temple (at Poinguinim) have also made it to this list, to promote Goa beyond its beaches, and attract tourists who genuinely appreciate the land.
