Goa govt lifts ban at 14 waterfalls

Goa Forest Department on Wednesday opened 14 low-risk waterfalls within the wildlife sanctuaries for public.

Among these 14 waterfalls, three are located in South Goa and 11 in Sattari taluka, North Goa.

PALI WATERFALL

This waterfall is located in Valpoi, North Goa, and is one of the most popular spots. It is also called Shivling falls.

HIVREM WATERFALL

One of Sattari's famous waterfalls is the Hivrem waterfall. Hivrem is situated at a distance 15 kms from Valpoi town.

CHARAVANE WATERFALL

A part of the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, Charavane is a trekkers' delight. It lies at the base of the Chorla Ghat.

NANELI WATERFALL

Nestled in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, Naneli waterfall is a great attraction for trekkers and tourists alike.

OTHER CASCADES

Gunguldem, Chidambar and Golauli are three other waterfalls that have been opened in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, according to a public notice issued by the Goa Forest Department.

KUMTHAL

In remote Kumthal, Sattari, ban has been lifted on two waterfalls.

GULULEM WATERFALLS

Madiyani and Khadee waterfalls in Gululem are also open for visitors.

BHATI WATERFALL

Bhati in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is also opened to the public.

This waterfall is located in Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary in Collem.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Kuskem is a low-risk waterfall.
