Goa gets into 'Khelo India mode', vows to produce champions

Under the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence in Panjim, badminton, tennis and swimming talents will be nurtured by one of the finest coaches in India.

The Khelo India State Centre of Excellence inauguration also saw the opening of the government-run Campal pool in Panjim after almost three years of slow-paced renovation work.

The renovated swimming pool has been installed with the ozone system of filtration and the operators on duty are being trained to understand it by the company personnel.

Even though the pool was inaugurated, the diving section and the crowd stand have not been refurbished.

The pool is unlikely to be opened for the public from tomorrow as it is yet to be declared fit for use by the authorities concerned, sources said.
