Glimpses of the procession of SFX relics at Old Goa

DAY OF DEVOTION

For all of Goa and Goans, it was a day filled with devotion as the decennial exposition of the scared relics of St Francis Xavier got underway on Thursday, November 21.

FAITHFUL GATHERING

The day started with Mass which was attended by faithful from far and wide.

TIME TO REFLECT

For some it was a time to reflect on their faith and devotion, and for many it was about spiritual renewal.

One could see an outpouring of devotion at every step of the way.

SHOW OF UNITY

After the Mass, volunteers formed a human chain before the procession, showcasing collective purpose and unity.

SAFE PASSAGE

As the procession began, the human chain stood like a guardian to ensure safe passage to the relics of St Francis Xavier.

A SHORT JOURNEY

The casket containing the relics was taken from the Basilica of Bom Jesus, its resting place, to the Se Cathedral nearby.

ONCE IN A DECADE

For many devotees, who were there, it was a culmination of years of longing to see this day.
