From the young to the old, family members of traditional Ganesh idol-makers from Kumbharwada, Mayem, are busy adding finishing touches to Ganesh idols these days.
With the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi just around the corner, you will also find older members of these traditional potter families pitching in to help make the beautiful idols.
Women from these families are also actively involved in adding their artistic touches to the clay sculptures.
In every house in Kumbharwada, you will find youngsters working dedicatedly to complete pending orders in time for the big day.
With the festival fast approaching, all members of the potter families are joining in to make the idols of Ganesh, the favourite god of Goa's Hindus.
For most of these families, the task of sculpting the idols is complete, and they are currently in the final stages of being painted to give them that perfect look.
While the older family members are busy with orders, children are also in the festive mood, sculpting and painting their own little clay Ganesh models -- all of which is aimed at getting them involved in the family tradition from a young age.
